FAQ'S
Are vitamins, amino acids, minerals safe?
Supplementing is not only safe, but it is also very important for
maintaining excellent health. In today's world, your lifestyle is
full of stress and you don't always eat wholesome meals.
Therefore, many of your food choices (like white flour products and
sugar) deplete your body of the vitamins, amino acids and minerals
(micronutrients). In addition, research studies conducted over the
past 35 years have shown that micronutrients taken in certain
therapeutic dosages can fight many illnesses. In these cases, the
supplements are used to help re-setup correct chemical balances in the
body and not just used to maintain wellness. In many cases they
are safer than than pharmaceutical drugs, which can have deadly side
effects.
Can I stay on my current medication?
Yes. In fact, Sherry definitely recommends that you not change your medications at all initially, unless your personal physician recommends such a change.
Will Sherry's approach allow me to get off medication?
In many cases, people can reduce some or all of their medications after
two to six months (depends on the individual) of amino acids, vitamins, minerals and herb therapy, if their response to
this supplementation has been excellent. Reducing or eliminating medication must be a decision you make only with your doctor's advice.
Can I work with my current doctor and still use this approach?
Yes, and that is what Sherry recommends. Sherry will be happy to consult with your personal physician.
How soon before I see results?
You don't have to wait weeks or months to see changes in your body. Many people report that within 24 hours after taking the nutrients, their moods lift and their cravings, depression, lack of energy, sleeplessness, etc. disappear. In many cases, positive responses to the nutrient supplements have taken place within minutes,
right in front of Sherry during their consultation. However,
because of the factors mentioned below, some other people might begin to
feel positive changes within a few days to 2 weeks. There is no standard
response time to amino acids, vitamins, minerals and herb therapy.
Factors Influencing Response Time:
Positive responses to amino acids, vitamins, minerals and herb therapy can be delayed for several reasons:
1. Depends on what vitamins, minerals, herbs, amino acids the
individual has been taking, how depleted one's system is and how
willing/motivated the individual is to do whatever is possible to
improve his/her health.
2. The individual has health problems that are interfering with absorption
of amino acids, vitamins or herbs. Candidiasis is one such condition which will slow down the response time, and is a condition that must be treated before the amino acids can do their work properly.
3. An inadequate diet and/or lack of exercise will slow down one's response to amino acids,
vitamins, minerals and herbs supplementation.
4. Response time is much slower if one has structural problems, such as: heart attack with permanently damaged heart tissue, stroke or Alzheimer's Disease with damaged brain tissue, diabetes that has progressed to the point where one requires insulin. These chronic, structural problems may require
more time (results vary with each individual) before the positive effects of amino acids,
vitamins, minerals and herb supplementation are felt.
How Long is the Course of Supplementation?
Usually, there is significant improvement anywhere from six weeks to six
months depending on the improved symptoms of the individual and the
factors mentioned below. At that time, the dosage and number of
supplements are reduced. Most people can reduce their supplementation program after
a couple of months and may be able to completely discontinue the program in
less than one year...if all of the factors that follow are addressed completely.
Factors Determining the Time Required and Effectiveness of
Amino Acids, Vitamins, Minerals and Herb Supplementation:
1. Diet. If one carefully follows dietary recommendations that accompany the
supplementation program, one can reduce and discontinue them more quickly.
2. Exercise. The same principle holds as for diet.
3. Coping with stress. Sherry's program components involve identifying your unique circumstances and prolonged stress has disrupted your ability to fight infection and disease as well as inhibit recovery from injury and illness.
You will learn to recognize the visible and non-visible stressors which are causing your stress as well as various stress management and assertiveness training techniques to help you overcome the stressors.
4. The longer you've been sick, the longer you will need to take supplements.
5. Sherry's program components include resolving any unresolved grief. This is different from
stress and is caused by emotional losses from your past and present
situations....which may reflect problematic relationships, loneliness, unforgiveness,
resentments, anger, work pressures, financial worries, etc. Sherry pays special attention to the mind-body connection, and the power of the mind to affect the body for better or for worse. Your commitment to honestly evaluate these issues in your life and to courageously tackle them with the aim of working through them will impact your speed of recovery from physical problems.
6. Structural problems such as heart attack or stroke will require a longer duration of
treatment.
